Funegreets
About Us

Poet History and Site Overall Information.

The Poems and Greeting Cards here are a spin off from our Quickegreets web site. From time to time a visitor would, request, that to have humorous categories mixed in with our religious and Christian categories, was not really appropriate for family viewing.

On the other hand a vast number of visitors constantly requested ever more Funny, Humorous cards and poems, to be added. Hence the reason for the actual Funegreets web site that you now visit.

We moved to our own domain (feb 2002) due to popularity. We had to opt from our former "Humor Greets" to "Funegreets" as the original name was already taken by another internet user.

You need a wicked sense of fun to follow most of the verses. 'Crude', maybe, but all in good fun with the sole intent to bring a laugh and smile to a faint heart, and endless dating or married couples globally.

Most of what ever you read in a poem or card, is based direct from the life experience. My Wife and Mother in-law, give me much ammunition to use as material, across the site and in the pages. They're strong characters, women with truly awesome temperaments. Of course with four sisters, also in tow, and countless sister in laws, material is quite easy to come by.

Many friends made online got me into writing Horror and Alien poems this section is totally scary and has some humorous endings in occasional poems as well as something to make your hair stand on end or tingle on the back of your neck maybe? If you want to scare someone literally, check out the scary ghostly Java Overlays too that we created to compliment the poems.

This is "NOT" a business nor a moneymaking organisation although the poet is self employed and struggling financially. We don′t force you to suffer countless pop ups across the site, we recently changed and added advertising to help running costs. The only revenue earned is from the Affiliates programmes that allow you to send a page/poem/ecard FREE, and advertising through . Sometimes it′s a real struggle financially, but living the dream to be recognised as a poet somewhere in the world of poetry, is sadly a hard one to travel. It′s sad but known that many poets are only recognised long after deaths passing has took them away to be a potential muse.

Interesting as it is the Internet goes extremely quiet End of July through to Late October? And also on a weekend which shows most users use work computers?

We only ask that you may choose to share our pages with your friends, simply so our work may be shared with countless others.

Nearly every graphic set on the sites were made and provided by ourselves, using Paint Shop Pro and Ulead Photo Impact. They are all uploaded in .zip format for other web site creators to freely use. But the poems them selves are "STRICTLY" not for reuse on other web sites. The Webmaster, started writing many years ago, for various charities and families in crises. Many works are registered to several charities, but all card verses are fully registered ®© to the webmaster. The Webmaster is a "published poet" with endless various works, recognised by many varied agencies charities and publishers globally.

There′s also a page with any of the midi files, (music) that we ourselves are responsible for creating, by use of a miniature pc music keyboard.

Web Browser issues

We find from testing and experience, that Netscape Browser load′s nearly all of our pages, there may be 1 in every 100, that won′t load or a java script won′t show or display. We've made any "scrolling text" fit for Netscape and Opera Browsers, although this has made the font appear to look slightly smaller in Microsoft Explorer.

Windows XP users need to download and install the virtual java machine to see the applets. If you don′t wish to do this, then please use the no java version of this site

Netscape makes the actual border line "colours" appear to look lighter than they really are, where as Opera Browser shows them as white. We are currently updating all pages to hopefully display properly in Netscape.

We've set fonts to show as basic system fonts, for most fonts used by web page creators, only work and show web pages as intended, if a visitor has that actual particular font installed on their own operating system. If you set a nice fancy font for say, size 5 to look really nice. And a user does not have this same font, on their computer then they'll see a massive standard font and every line in such a web page shown as broken over several lines, and it looks terrible indeed.

To make the web pages on any web site look much nicer in appearance, if you are using Microsoft′s web browser (there is a similar setting in Netscape) if you go to Tools Internet Options Advanced look for a box saying underline links. If you check this to hover all the underlines on the actual links disappear, and only show as you move your mouse across them. Makes the Internet look a nicer place overall.

But, with so many changes made to the Internet over all those years, we eventually merged the two sites, and have had to move into a domain, with a company, which offers both our selves and visitors a truly superb service.

So we have to rely on the assistance of our visitors to point out any missed typing errors we may have made. As we truly use no fancy program nor spell checker, to make any of the poems cards or verses, just a program similar to notepad one with no spell or grammar check.

The floating banner′s on "index pages only", and it′s "NOT" a bother to any one, other than, 'other greeting card site owners' them selves. There are NO forced pop-ups jumping out at you, any where on this web site, and most certainly, "none" that will open new browser windows "without" Your own given consent, and advertising as mentioned, is rare and always extremely limited across the site.

As 'NO ONE' forced you to visit this web site and considering that this is a "totally FREE to use SITE", please remember this, before making complaint. Using the Internet does not give any visitor the given right to be demanding or critical to any web master. Many webmasters today truly appreciate visitor etiquette, via email.

The WebMaster Poem.

We sit at computers
endless day after day,
Writing and typing
as life slowly goes by.

We sit at computers,
can you guess just why,
That God in his Wisdom
inspires us to write.

We sit many hours,
passing time all the while,
Knowing in the world,
many folk need to smile.

We wish only for the world
all people, therein,
To know they're loved
from our hearts within.
